Summary: On the surface the story deals with a choice meeting between a carefree young man, Jack, and a wizard, and the lessons of self-sufficiency learned by him from 2 magic seeds that the wizard gave him. Jack's strict adherence to the principles of the wizard about the magic seeds affected his entire life to the point that he moved from a position of being hungry to that of having an abundant yield, so that he could share with others.

Classroom Ideas: Students could use prediction to calculate the amount of seeds that will be grown during a particular season. In addition, they could use graphing to number the amount of seeds being produced in the student generated stories
